Community Outreach

The Escondido Junior Chamber of Commerce is proud to have been involved in some of the most exciting and beneficial projects in the Escondido community. We have a long history of helping in community projects that began when the club was chartered in 1951. Some of the projects are ongoing such as the Christmas Parade and some are to meet a particular one-time need such as the development of the play areas at Kit Carson Park.

We have some exciting ideas for 2017. Here are some things to look forward to:

Escondido Jaycees “Little Free Library”

The Escondido Jaycees have a passion for reading and we want to share that passion with others in the community. We plan on putting together a “Little Free Library” later this year.

  • What is a Little Free Library? “A Little Free Library is a “take a book, return a book” free book exchange. They come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common version is a small wooden box of books. Anyone
may take a book or bring a book to share.” Find out more information here: About Free Little Library
  • How can you help? If you have any books that you would be donating to our Little Free Library, please email us at

Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

The Escondido Jaycees hold a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at the biannual Escondido Grand Avenue Festival in May and October. Proceeds from this event go towards events that the Escondido Jaycees participate in throughout the year, including our Annual Escondido Jaycees Christmas Parade.

Our next fundraiser will be on Sunday October 15. Please come support us as we raise money for the Christmas Parade.

Thank you to our generous sponsors:

Cocina Del Charro
Major Market
Business Breakfast Club
J&M’s Family Restaurant

Please support them as they have supported us!

Nick, Stephanie and Jacob getting ready to prepare more breakfasts

Krista and Elana about to makes some deliveries to our vendors

It takes a lot of people to make this fundraiser successful!

Earth Day Clean Up

Escondido Jaycees teamed up with I Love a Clean San Diego for their 15th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup for Earth Day 2017! We started by planting new plants at City Hall and then went to the Via Rancho on ramp to clean up trash in the area.

Escondido Jaycees Annual Christmas Parade

For 66 years the Escondido Jaycees have organized the city’s annual Christmas Parade. Thanks to the abundance of support from the City, local businesses, Jaycees Alumni, and friends and family, the Jaycees pulled it off again this year! Visit the Christmas Parade tab for more information about the Parade. Also, please check out our Sponsors. We wouldn’t have been able to do this without them! This year’s parade will be held Saturday December 9 at 9:30am along Broadway.

66th Escondido Jaycees Christmas Parade Vanguard includes our Escondido Jaycees President Elana Karoly, Parade Chairperson Kim Michel, Grand Marshals Cecil and Debbie Stevens, Mayor Sam Abed, City Councilmembers Ed Gallo, John Masson, Mike Morasco and Olga Diaz, and State Assemblywoman Marie Waldron.
